About

In Q2 2009, NHCA started a program to provide NHCA as a live case study of contemporary community and sustainability issues for Monash university and college students, many are from overseas. The inter community enggagement kicked off in a workshop seminar in late April. Journalism students from Monash College had the opportunity to interview residents to collect field data for writing their news articles.

The website is a live case development of Notting Hill. It aims to help students understand the community issues of Melbourne 2030 style urban renewal in Notting Hill and the erosion of its local liveability. The case study will give insights about a typical Melbourne suburban community who is determined to manage and respond to the urban planning challenges they face in trying to become a sustainable community. When a community’s built environment is being undermined, it is more challenging for the community to develop and be fully engaged with sustainability practices and lifestyles.

The site will be regularly updated every trimester, to keep students informed of the latest progress events.
